It's WEDNESDAY…
OVER THE HUMP DAY
I don’t know if you can tell or not but I’m laughing in the picture above. I was trying to get the grand dogs to pose in a picture with me by the tree. This is DS#5’s family room a couple of Christmas’s ago. I did have a lot to smile about yesterday so I thought I show you one of my
***BIG SMILES***
First off it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day and we did not have the rain/snow mix that they said we’d have. Sunshine always make me SMILE.
Next I got a delivery of office supplies that I’d been looking for. The nice office supply store we have nearby even delivers for free. One of our printers at work is getting old but still works and they found an ink cartridge for me that I’d had trouble finding.
And then DSIL called to say he’d set up an appointment for me to have my Christmas gift installed. I guess my family decided I needed an automatic car starter so my car will be all warmed up when I leave for work these colder winter mornings. A very big THANK YOU everyone.
My appointment is on the 12th. I hope the ‘silver streak’ can handle it…she’s not used to being warm when we take off in the morning.
THINKING
Advent is the time of hope, a time to renew the light of Christ in our lives.
As He came to bring us the light of eternal life, we hope to share our light with others.
By remembering our kinship with all men;
By well-wishing, friendly speaking, and kindly doing;
By cheering the downcast, and adding sunshine to daylight;
By welcoming strangers (poor shepherds or wise men);
By keeping the music of the Angels' Song in this home;
God help us every one to share the Blessing of Jesus,
In whose Name we keep Christmas.

NEW IN THE KITCHEN
The boys were helping DDIL#5 break up lettuce for a salad here.
Our modern word holiday comes from the Anglo-Saxon halig daeg, or holy day. That's because the first holidays were days set aside to honor a favorite saint or sacred event. They revolved around services of worship and special feasts which always included sweetmeats, or desserts
BUCKEYES
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 cups confectioners' sugar
4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- In a large bowl, mix together the peanut butter, butter, vanilla and confectioners' sugar. The dough will look dry. Roll into 1 inch balls and place on a waxed paper-lined cookie sheet.
- Press a toothpick into the top of each ball (to be used later as the handle for dipping) and chill in freezer until firm, about 30 minutes.
- Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler or in a bowl set over a pan of barely simmering water. Stir frequently until smooth.
- Dip frozen peanut butter balls in chocolate holding onto the toothpick. Leave a small portion of peanut butter showing at the top to make them look like Buckeyes. Put back on the cookie sheet and refrigerate until serving.

They say it will be rainy and maybe close to 50 degrees here today. This morning it’s still down in the 30’s

Father, I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those for
whom I care deeply, who are reading this right now.
Show them a new revelation of your love and power.
Holy Spirit, I ask you to minister to their spirit
at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them
your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt,
release a renewed confidence through your grace.
Where there is need, I ask you to fulfill their needs.
Bless their homes, families, finances, their goings
and their comings.
In Jesus' Precious name.

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

AROUND HOME
Here is DS#2 and his son when they were home for Christmas a couple years ago.
I’m just so thankful that I have such a wonderful family. I may not get to see them as much as I like, but I really am so glad to have them all. Some people are all alone during the holidays and every other day of the year for that matter. I don’t ever have that problem and for that I’m thankful.

COUNTING THE DAYS
This little clock hangs in my front room and plays Christmas carols on the hour. It’s among the first things I put up and the last I take down every year at Christmas. It is really one of those gifts that keeps on giving.
On Christmas Eve all animals can speak.
However, it is bad luck to test this superstition
