Decide to be happy today, to live with what is yours – your family, your business, your job, your luck. If you can’t have what you like, maybe you can like what you have.
Just for today, be kind, cheerful, agreeable, responsive, caring, and understanding. Be your best, dress your best, talk softly, and look for the bright side of things. Praise people for what they do and do not criticize them for what they cannot do. If someone does something stupid, forgive and forget. After all, it’s just for one day.
Who knows, it might turn out to be a nice day.

Celebrate today and call your favorite senior relatives to let the know you are thinking of them. Or if you are a senior citizen, take time to relax and enjoy the day!
I am smiling, I enjoyed the read. And YES I can associate with you when you wrote:
I think I’ve changed into my mother in some ways. .....
Strange that we see ourselves different as we become more 'SENIOR'. TAke care of your self out there in Texas. Don't be breaking no Broncs!!!
Love ya
I'm the senior in the family. My parents were not long-lived, and I'm grateful for every day, especially days in good health. And, yes, sunscreen!
Happy to be a Senior Citizen, as well! My father died (cardiac arrest) at only 68, but my mother lived another 20 years before her mind began to decline. I'm not sure which is worse, but I try and do all I can to take care of myself.
Every day may not be perfect, but there's always something for which to be grateful.
Your gratitude list is beautiful, and even the sunburn story brings a gentle reminder of self care. Truly, age brings wisdom and grace.
I’m a senior citizen…and I count my blessings every single day…like you, I enjoy each day. 💕 bestest wishes to you, Virginia xo
I hate to sound negative, but Gen Z don't like the aged - I bet they stop that holiday. lol. Be careful about blistering from the sun girlfriend. Be careful.
