May 23rd is Lucky Penny Day. If you can find a penny, especially on May 23rd, perhaps your luck will change for the better. Either way, you will be one cent richer

A Penny


I found a penny today

Just laying on the ground,

But it's not just a penny

This little coin I've found.

Found pennies come from heaven

That's what my Grandpa told me,

He said, Angels toss them down

Oh, how I loved that story.


He said, When an Angel misses you

They toss a penny down,

Sometimes just to cheer you up

To make a smile out of your frown.


So don't pass by that penny

When you're feeling blue,

It may be a penny from heaven

That an Angel's tossed to you.

I have to say that when I find a penny I always pick it up and put it in my pocket. It's nice to think that I have an angel is watching over me  I sometimes wonder if those little pennies aren't trying to send us a message.  

I think every time I see a glint of copper on the street, every time I bend down to pick up that seemingly valueless coin,  I know something other people don't. I know that recognizing the worth of one small thing can lead to something bigger and more important than you ever dreamed of.

It's the little things that matter.

A hug, a smile, a kind word are all things we can give each day that make such a difference.  Never forget to tell those precious loved ones just how much you care!

COUNTING MY GIFTS

 Most people can't even think what to hope for when they throw a penny in a fountain.

I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts. I’ll be sharing them and giving thanks to God for these gifts each day.   

604.  for pennies that remind us of what is important

605. for a wonderful get together with good friends

606. for a good cup of morning coffee, Coastal Blend I found at Aldi's this week 

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

 

Lord, hold our troops in

your loving hands.

Protect them as they protect us.

Bless them and their families for the

selfless acts they perform for us

in our time of need. I ask this in the

name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters

and Paramedics and EMT's
