SUPER BOWL DAY

The 47th Super Bowl will take place on Sunday, February 3, 2013. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 EST / 5:30 CST on CBS.

The Super Bowl is a great time to prepare lots of snack foods and get a group of people together to watch the game.  Besides the football game, many will be watching the halftime show and the commercials.  The commercials seem to be a show in themselves.  

 This is the tenth Super Bowl for New Orleans, tying with Miami  for the most Super Bowls hosted by a metropolitan area. 

New Orleans really knows how to throw a party and this one will be no exception. Especially coming, as it does, in between the two weekends of Mardi Gras.

However you choose to enjoy your Super Bowl day, relax, enjoy and cheer your heart out!

Football isn't necessarily won by the best players. It's won by the team with the best attitude.

Although I'm not a huge football fan or sports fan of any kind, I do admire the hours of practice and hard work the players put in to play their games. I love watching the skill and passion of great athletes as they give their all on the field. It shows their love for the game. 

I was always taught that it didn't matter if you won or lost, it was how you played the game that mattered.  If we love something from the heart, it matters, it really does.

It will be a quiet day here at my house, no parties going on while watching the game. As I don't have any football pictures to show you all today, I've put in some of my Valentine decorations here around my house.

In case you didn't hear - Punxsutawney Phil predicts an early Spring!  You'd never know it here though, as we got well over half a foot of snow yesterday.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in

your loving hands.

Protect them as they protect us.

Bless them and their families for the

selfless acts they perform for us

in our time of need. I ask this in the

name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
