UMBRELLA DAY

Umbrella Day is in honor of one of the world's most invaluable inventions. On a rainy, day, we are sure glad that someone was smart enough to invent it. It's also increasingly popular to use umbrellas to shade ourselves from harmful UV radiation, and the heat of the sun.

Umbrellas come in all sorts of sizes, colors, shapes, and, designs. Businesses and organizations use them for advertising. The smallest umbrellas fit inside a purse or glove compartment. Golf umbrellas are popular sizes. Then, there are lawn and beach umbrellas. 

Celebrate Umbrella Day in a couple of ways. First, make sure your umbrella is handy. Second, use it, or walk around with it. If you don't have an umbrella, isn't it time to get one?

For every day that there is sunshine, there will be days of rain,

With so much snow here this winter, a rainy day doesn't sound half bad.  Spring is coming and here in my part of the world, the rain keeps me inside almost as much as the snow does. April is often the rainyest month but very often May is too.  Thankfully we do have umbrellas to protect us.

There is more than one kind of umbrella and there is more than one way to protect ourselves.  We have boots to keep our feet dry and gloves to keep our hands warm.  Clothing to keep us warm and clothing to keep us cool too.  Living where the effects of 4 seasons are felt to extremes sometimes, it's good to have a variety of them all to feel comfortable.

It makes me think too, that it takes a lot of different things to keep my attitude in check too.

COUNTING MY GIFTS

It takes both the sun and the rain to make a rainbow

I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in

your loving hands.

Protect them as they protect us.

Bless them and their families for the

selfless acts they perform for us

in our time of need. I ask this in the

name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters

and Paramedics and EMT's
