If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side

It's TUESDAY!  

NATIONAL CREAMSICLE DAY

Get that freezer stocked up with creamsicle ice cream because we have a National Holiday where we have an excuse to eat creamcicles all day long! Creamsicles are yummie to say the least. It use to be the only creamsicle flavors you could find was orange. Now-ah-days you can find chocolate with the traditional cream center of vanilla. Keep in mind, creamsicle is actually a brand but the word creamsicle has come to describe any ice cream snack, homemade or bought, with a vanilla cream center. Yep homemade creamsicles are popular on National Creamsicle Day.

 Just make sure to eat your creamsicle quickly before it melts.

Summer is the time when one sheds one's tensions with one's clothes, and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the battered spirit.  A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief that all's right with the world.

This has been the summer to enjoy smoothies so today I thought I'd share another recipe

Orange Creamsicle Smoothie

1 1/2 cups vanilla ice cream

1 cup mandarin orange section, fresh or canned

1/2 cup heavy cream or milk

2 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate\

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Smoothie may be thin.  If thicker texture is desired add more ice cream 

We have cooled down here.  We've gone from the 90's down to high 70's and today we may have some rain.  Still it's warm enough to enjoy some ice cream for sure.
