HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

The traditions of Valentine's Day are broad and many. It is a time to exchange cards or small gifts. Chocolates and jewelry are the big hits of this holiday as is romantic dinners.

It is a romantic event for lovers and a fun event for kids and family. Many a couple become engaged or wed on this day. For others it is a day to fall in love.

Did you know? While 75% of chocolate purchases are made by women all year long, during the days and minutes  before Valentine's Day, 75% of the chocolate purchases are made by men.  Over $1billion of chocolate is purchased for Valentine's Day.

It's also National Have a Heart Day.  One promotes eating chocolate while the other promotes eating your vegetables.

Nobody has ever measured, even poets, how much a heart can hold.

Love Gives

Someone taught you how to love,

and probably didn't know it

And in return, with every day,

It's now your turn to show it

When you love, you give a gift,

And when you're gone it stays

To be passed on by the ones you loved

To make some one else's day

So remember someone who loved you,

And show how much you care,

By sharing all the love they gave

With people everywhere

When you give away your love,

That doesn't mean it's gone

so open your heart..

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in

your loving hands.

Protect them as they protect us.

Bless them and their families for the

selfless acts they perform for us

in our time of need. I ask this in the

name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters

and Paramedics and EMT's

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

Psalm 23:5-6  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

There were many times during Jesus' ministry that he would stop and pray for others.  He knew the power of the spoken word and the effect that faith has on the spirit, mind and body.

When we pray with love for others, it doesn't matter whether it's for health, safety, prosperity or any other desire.  The Spirit of Love will touch each individual that we pray for.  We can be assured that our powerful God answers all our prayers.  

What a blessing it is to pray for others.

There are in the end three things that last: faith, hope and love and the greatest of these is love.

I said a Valentine prayer for you and asked the

 Lord above to fill your heart and bless your soul

 With the precious gift of love.

I asked Him for sincere love 

The kind that’s meant to stay

 Just like the generous love 

You give to those you touch each day.
