ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SEPTEMBER 18TH, 2010
Today is International Eat An Apple Day
It is appropriate that this is APPLE day. Here at home we have what is called an APPLE Festival every year on the 3rd weekend of September. I'm at home this weekend due to many things. One of those is that DS#1 and family are coming home. I had ordered some plants from our Prince Charming and they are bring those and they'll also attending the Apple Festival. I hope to be joining them there too.
They also want to meet the newest member of the family so they'll be visiting DS#5 and family too. Mr. Wonderful has no idea just how large a family he was born into. There are still other aunts, uncles and cousins that he hasn't met.
Don't store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal
How rich I am to have food on the table, a car that starts every time I turn the key, a family that loves me like crazy, and faith that runs deep. I may never be wealthy, but believe me when I say this: I'm rich beyond belief.
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
Oktoberfest is a two week festival (September 18-October 3rd), held in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. While it is a giant world festival in Germany, Oktoberfest celebrations are held around the world during this time. So, if you can't get to the fair in Germany, you can participate in a local event. German cooking is often thought of as being very hearty with an emphasis on meat and potatoes. Bavarian cooking is hearty and rustic, making very simple ingredients into tasty, satisfying dishes
Bratwurst most often refers to a sausage made from pork in a natural casing and is grilled or fried in a pan. It is a favorite in Germany, with each region having its own specialty. The most common type of Bratwurst is the pre-cooked kind. Their shelf-life is longer and they are easier and faster to grill. Bratwurst are fully cooked. Simply brown them in a pan or on the grill and they are finished and ready to be eaten. To get the Bratwurst to a nice, dark brown color, brush them with beer before grilling or frying. Alternatively, sprinkle the Bratwurst with a little sugar. The sugar caramelizes, giving the Bratwurst a rich brown color.
Happy Octoberfest Y'all!

Any fool can count the seeds in an apple. Only God can count all the apples in one seed.

We had some really bad storms south of us on Thursday night, but all we had was rain here. The temps yesterday were cooler due to the rain, but today is supposed to be in the mid 70's and mostly sunny so it should be a perfect day to be out and about.
Everybody's 12 years old in an apple orchard.
I made my second school fund raiser purchase yesterday. Our Dino Boy is selling Boy Scout Popcorn. Our Prince Charming has joined scouts this year too, so I'm sure I'll be buying some from him also. The great thing is that I love pop corn!
I don't mind supporting the grandbabes fund raisers at all because they usually sell something I can use. Now that is only 2 of 14 so I guess I'll have about 9 more to go as the three youngest are not in school yet.
COUNTING THE DAYS
If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas
