ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SEPTEMBER 25TH, 2012
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
It's TUESDAY!
NATIONAL COMIC BOOK DAY
National Comic Book Day is a super cool day. Share a comic book with a friend today. Comic books are great reading. They either tell an ongoing story, provide humor, or offer intrigue and suspense. In all comic books, good eventually prevails over evil. So, comic books always make us feel good.
Comic books have great value as a collectors item. Don't ever throw away those old comic books. Down the road, the series you are collecting today, may be worth its weight in gold!
Without comic books there'd be no super heroes. And without super heroes there'd be no good Halloween costumes.
NEWS FROM HOME
There's some little bright spot in your day that reminds you that it's fun to smile.
Hank Ketcham, creator of Dennis the Menace comic strip
Some of my favorite comics are Charlie Brown and Dennis the Menace. And of course we can never forget Al Kapp's Lil'l Abner and the gang from Dogpatch. These are my heros. More than anything, we need a reason to SMILE everyday.
Ketcham was inspired by the antics of his four year old son Dennis to create his popular freckle-faced character. A four year old has sharp eyes and imagination and an adequate vocabulary, but he's not really responsible for what he does, he explained.
Comics like that of the Peanuts gang have grown in popularity because of the wisdom shared about life by the delightful round-headed children. The characters deal with real emotions and are easy to identify with.
Schulz's beloved beagle Snoopy has become the most widely recognized character in the world.
Happiness is laughter... and a warm puppy.
Happiness is laughter... and a warm puppy.
Don't forget to SMILE today. Have a terrific Tuesday!
PRAYER REQUEST
I received a request for our prayers from a friend who's sister's FIL is having surgery on the 28th of this month. Please join me in praying for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
If I were given the opportunity to present a gift to the next generation, it would be the ability for each individual to learn to laugh at himself.
Charles M. Schulz, Creator of the award winning Peanuts comic strip
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
COUNTING THE DAYS
Success is following the pattern of life one enjoys most.
Al Capp, Creator of Li'l Abner Comic strip

Celebrate the happiness

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma
I too like the Peanuts comic strip and you are right, Ma, so much wisdom in it. I remember as a "youngster" enjoying comic books. I'm thinking my kids didn't get in to them too much when they were younger, probably since video games were so relevant then.
ReplyDeleteYou too enjoy Tuesday!
