ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

74 Days Until Summer
Sunrise: 6:58 am
Sunset: 8:02 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!
Today is National Cherish an Antique Day which is a day to polish them up and put them on display. We have all been fascinated by the stories of the curiosities and the rare glimpse they give us into the lives of our ancestors.
In 1979 the first episode of Antiques Roadshow aired in the United Kingdom and residents presented their family heirlooms and collectibles for appraisal and learned their true value. The show was a success and is still in production today. On the American version of the show, the most valuable find to date was a set of carved rhinos which were appraised at 1 to 1.5 million dollars.
Celebrate today and learn the story behind your favorite antique.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Priceless things matter not for their value, but because they offer us an enduring reminder of stability and permanence.
Barbara Taylor Bradford
Truth be told, most everything in my house is old and much of what I have could be considered an antique. None of it has much of any value except to me. I’m comfortable living with all my old stuff. Some of it was given to me, some was found in 2nd hand stores.
I’m close to becoming an antique my self so it’s so wonder I like old things! Ha! There used to be quite a few antique stores in our area and I would laugh when I saw something that I use every day sitting on a shelf in one of them. These days there is not so many, but I do like to visit thrift shops like Goodwill and Salvation Army because sometimes you’ll find a treasure or two there.
One of my more recent finds were antique post cards. I put them in picture frames that I also found at Goodwill and display them for Easter. They are shown in the pictures today. There is very little room here to add anything more to my collection so if I find something new, it has to be small.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Old things are better than new things because they’ve got stories in them.
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
