Life is a Special Occasion!
Ah. July 22nd is Hammock Day, a grand occasion for swinging gently in the shade, coddled by a gentle summer breeze. Today seems like a wonderful reason for lounging in a comfortable hammock nest, alone or with someone special, on July 22nd. . Summer is in full swing. It's time to slow down and to relax.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it.
The weather forecast says this week is to be a lot hotter than the cool week we experienced last week. We may be close to 90 degrees today. But thanks to a few scattered thunderstorms we may cool down to the 70’s again by Thursday. Our weather is certainly up and down like a roller coaster lately.
I’ve noticed that mid summer days like we have now really do feel different. The hot and humid dog days are settling in. The freshness that we felt at the beginning of summer is gone and I have to admit I’m feeling very lazy. Ah yes, and the days are starting to get shorter too.
I won’t be laying in a hammock today but hope to get outside awhile before it gets too hot. Our little Xfactor is supposed to be here today. He loves to play outdoors.
I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Dirty hands, iced tea, garden fragrances thick in the air and a blanket of color before me, who could ask for more?
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1800 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1874. for lazy days
1875. for restful places in the shade
1876. for another day to spend with one of my grandsons
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
