THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.
W T Ellis
July 25th is my official kick off for preparing gifts for Christmas. Before I do that though, I’ve got things in the making for Halloween and Thanksgiving and a new baby gift to finish up too. I try to make a lot of what I give to others so this is the start of a very busy time for me. Some years I procrastinate and wind up trying to make my deadline and get it all done in December. I don’t want to be that way this year. It takes me a lot longer than it used to to get things done.
I really don’t want to think about winter and the cold and snow and although we have had some very hot and steamy weather here, we also have had some unusually cool days for July. On those days when it’s too hot to be outside, I’ll be working away in Santa ma’s workshop here. Plenty to do before Christmas arrives. There are 152 more sleeps to the big day.
The picture above is what I managed to get done for anniversary gifts for DS#5 and his wife and DD and her hubby who had anniversaries in July.
I hope you all have a fantastic Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1800 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1883. for plenty of time to get things made for Christmas gifts
1884. for lots of people in my life to give gifts to
1885. for paints, and brushes to use to get the job done
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
