ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
MAY 2nd, 2012
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Whether we're talking the delicate, tasty fungus or the rich chocolate treat, the word truffle means fancy and expensive.
The truffle mushroom is tough to find, and harvesters rely on the help of trained pigs to sniff them out on the forest floor. Once procured, a little truffle goes a long way in gourmet cuisine, and it has a pungent, celebrated flavor.
As for the chocolate truffle, it was first created in Chambery, France and is of a sphere of chocolate filled with ganache, caramel, cream, or other confectionary delight. But let's not waste any more time with truffle facts.
Time to eat!
NEWS FROM HOME
I've never had a truffle mushroom, but I have heard that they are expensive and very good too. But I do love truffles of the chocolate variety. They are rich and smooth and melt in your mouth.
More rain coming our way today they say...Right now the weekend is looking good, but cooler...we'll see.
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!
