If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
As a way to raise awareness of melanoma and other types of skin cancer, and to encourage early detection through self-exams, the American Academy of Dermatology designates the first Monday in May as Melanoma Monday.
Skin cancer is the only cancer that can be seen on the surface of the skin. By examining your skin for any changes, you can detect early warning signs of skin cancer.
Dermatologists are the doctors who specialize in treating our skin, hair, and nails. They treat common diseases that many people get, such as acne and warts. They treat rare diseases, too.
Whether common or rare, a skin condition can affect your life.
NEWS FROM HOME
A few years back at the insistence of a doctor I saw, I did go to a dermatologist. More than once I'd been told that I had a suspicious looking mole on my back. Of course I cannot see this mole well as it is on my back, so off I went to have it checked out.
The good news is that it was just fine. Looking on the bright side of things, it is better to be safe than sorry.
I'm back home again this morning. I left the camper Sunday afternoon for 2 good reasons. One, that rain is expected for the next couple of days and the 2nd being that I had forgot my tote with my clothes in it. I had the clothes I wore there and 3 sets of pj's to do me over the weekend. Well if nothing else I was comfortable.
I think I've mentioned before that I do laugh a lot at myself...
Hope you all have a great Monday!
