THE BRIGHT SIDE

Decide to be happy today, to live with what is yours – your family, your business, your job, your luck. If you can’t have what you like, maybe you can like what you have.
Just for today, be kind, cheerful, agreeable, responsive, caring, and understanding. Be your best, dress your best, talk softly, and look for the bright side of things. Praise people for what they do and do not criticize them for what they cannot do. If someone does something stupid, forgive and forget. After all, it’s just for one day.
Who knows, it might turn out to be a nice day.

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
JANUARY 14TH,  2012

If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side

It's SATURDAY!

DRESS UP YOUR PET DAY

Dress Up Your Pet Day is an opportunity to wow the neighbours, and to unleash the inner diva of your favourite pooch or persian… Why not go the extra mile, and get the little guy or gal something to match your finest glad rags – that way you can both dress to impress and really set some trends!

I have to say that I don't have any pets to dress up here at my house, but it is a good time to remember that when it's freezing cold outside, make sure your pets are not left in the cold for long periods of time. Wind chill makes days colder than actual temperature readings. Be attentive to your dog's body temperature, and limit its time outdoors.. Adequate shelter is a necessity. Frostbite is your dog's winter hazard. To prevent frostbite on its ears, tail and feet, don't leave your dog outdoors for too long

NEWS FROM HOME

After having had quite a few relatively mild winter days, you sort of forget just how cold and snowy January can be.  Snow was on the ground here when I woke up yesterday morning and it was very cold and windy outside. Arctic winds brought in temps in the mid to low 20's and at night mid to upper teens.  And I did get some much needed exercise shoveling that white stuff.   We might get a reprieve on Monday and Tuesday with highs in the 40's again but then the cold and snow will return again.  At any rate this is much better than last year, when we didn't get above freezing for what seemed months at a time.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's

GOD BLESS YOU!
