ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
DECEMBER 24th, 2011
A day filled with anticipation and last-minute gift wrapping, Christmas Eve is like a bonus holiday all its own. Tonight Santa takes flight, making his world wide toy deliveries
Christmas Eve is a time of family gathering and reconciliation. It's also a night of magic: Animals are said to talk in a human voice and people have the power to tell the future. The belief was born with our ancestors who claimed that Dec. 24 was a day to mark the beginning of a new era. It was bolstered by sayings such as, As goes Christmas Eve, goes the year. Hoping for a good 12 months, everyone was polite and generous to one another and forgave past grievances.
It was believed that if Christmas sees no snow, Easter certainly will-or more artfully, If the Christmas tree sinks in water, the egg rolls on ice. Other sayings include, A sunny Christmas Eve brings fair weather all year round; Stars that shine bright on Christmas Eve will make hens lay plenty of eggs; A shine on the birth of our Savior will be seen all throughout January.
At the Christmas Eve supper, each dish had to be sampled, and a traditional meal would consist of 12 dishes. The more you ate, the more pleasure would await you in the future.
I hope your Christmas Eve is a special one what ever you may be doing. Enjoy the blessings that only Christmas can bring.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Even as an adult I find it difficult to sleep on Christmas Eve. Yuletide excitement is a potent caffeine, no matter your age.
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU!
In case you all wondered...no, all this good coffee at my house is not keeping me awake at night. Somehow it doesn't seem to affect me one way or the other anymore. I just enjoy drinking it.
Today's good coffee is Italian Roast - A deep, dark-roasted delight, done right.
For those who appreciate the rich, deep-roasted brews found in Europe's most celebrate cafes.
I've just about covered most of the coffees that were a part of my Christmas gifts this year. There are still a few that I'll mention in the next day or two, but I just want to say Thank You again to my babes that have given me a gift that just keeps on giving every day. Not only the coffee, mind you, they bless me with there love and caring ways all through the year!
COUNTING THE DAYS
Christmas is a bridge. We need bridges as the river of time flows past. Today's Christmas should mean creating happy hours for tomorrow and reliving those of yesterday.
