FOR Friday, May 14, 2010
ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
MAY 14TH, 2010
It's FINALLY FRIDAY!
By yesterday afternoon it had warmed up some but it was stormy and there was another tornado watch. Today is supposed to be in the low 70's and partly cloudy. We'll be in the mid 60's through the weekend. I guess we just cant have the warmth without the storms lately.
We can easily fall into the trap of trying to impress others with our doing and overlook the importance of time with God. With God on our daily calendar, we will find renewed energy to accomplish all that lies before us each day
Jesus said to his disciples, Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while.

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
I've learned that I don't feel my age as long as I focus on my dreams instead of my regrets.
This weekend will be a busy one for me. I'll have Saturday to do a few things around the house and then Sunday morning we go to DS#3's for the day as his little boy will be baptized. I guess DD, DS#5 and his wife and I will be going together. Sunday evening I'll be making the trip back here to DS#6's house.
This coming week will probably be my last to babysit for our Little Lucky guy. DDIL#6's mom will be coming to finish out the last couple of weeks with him until school is out and then his mom will have time off for the summer. I can only say it has been a joy. I'll be soaking in all the baby holding I can get as it's a rare thing for me to have my grand children close by. Days and weeks, months and years sometimes go by before I see some of them.
COUNTING THE DAYS
German and Swiss lore refers to mid-May as Iceman Days
Perhaps you’ve heard the old proverb that warns not to plant until after the Three Ice Men have passed. The tradition comes from Northern Europe, and is tied to the successive feasts of St. Mamertus, St. Pancras, and St. Servatius, whose respective days occur on May 11, 12, and 13.
39 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
